Father : How did you do that, darling?

Father : How did you manage it?
Carla : I knew the greedy merchant would come to buy the fine watermelons I had taken with me to the market.
Father : Did he come?
Carla : As expected he came. He wanted to buy “everything” I had. I told him I would sell him everything I had for “everything he had in his hand”.
He agreed. The deal was made.
Father : Very interesting! What happened , then?
Carla : When he gave me the money I told him, the deal was ‘for everything ‘ in his hand’. And he was wearing v three rings on his fingers. He realised he was outsmarted. 6th Standard English Annual Exam Question Paper 2022-23 Kerala Syllabus 2
What would be the thoughts of Aman?
Answer:
I was thinking I am a great swimmer and I can swim in any difficult situation and reach safety. But how grossly was I mistaken! If Radha had not come to my rescue I would have been dead by now. And look at my brother and our friends. None of them dared to jump into the current to save me. But Radha did. She did not even have a swimming costume. She just removed her shoes and jumped into the swift current with her salwar- kurta and saved me from drowning. We were not willing to take her to the club for swimming as she had no swimming costume. We laughed at her saying that she did not know the different styles of swimming – breast stroke, butterfly stoke and free stroke. I knew all these but they did not help me in my need. Radha did not know all these different styles but she knew how to swim against the current and that is how she saved me. I will apologise to her and ask her to teach me the way she swims so confidently.
