Then my grandmother told my mother to find a particular house from the street and when she is looking for it she won’t be bored. My mother then told me to look for a particular house. It is a little round red house with no windows or doors. It has a chimney on top and a star in the middle. Then I put on my rain coat, hat, scarf, mittens, and boots and went in search of the house.
I found different houses with different colours – white, blue and yellow. I also found a red house. But it was square and not round. Then I enquired from a mail carrier about the little round red house with no windows or doors, with a chimney on top and a star in the middle. Bu he had never seen one like that. Then I asked a police officer. She too could not help me.

I then asked Mr. Fetzer who lives at the end of the block. He asked me to go to his apple orchard and I could find it. I went to the orchard and when a breeze blew and an apple fell at my feet. It was red, round, had no windows and doors, but had a chimney at the top. I picked it and went home. When I asked my mother where the star was, she cut the apple right through the middle and there was a star!

Rosa Parks : It is a foolish rule. I paid my fare and I have the right to sit on the seat I am sitting. Why should I get up and give the seat to a white man?
Driver : Don’t argue. If you don’t get up from the seat I will call the police. .
Rosa Parks : Both white men and black men are citizens of this country. Why should a person have a special privilege because he has white colour? What is wrong with black colour?
Driver : You are very rude. You will suffer for that.
Rosa Parks : I am not rude. You are rude by asking a lady to get up and give the seat to a man. You can do whatever you like. I am not going to get up from this seat. I have paid the fare and I have the right to sit here. I am not inferior to a white man!
