(a) What is the sum of angles of a 12 sided polygon?
Answer:
(n – 2) 180 = (12 – 2) 180
= 10 × 180 = 1800°

(b) What is the sum of angles of a polygon with one side more?
Answer:
1800 + 180 = 1980°

4 added to 4 times a number is 40.
(a) What is 4 times the number?
Answer:
40 – 4 = 36

(b) Find the number.
Answer:
number = \(\frac{36}{4}\) = 9

Question 4.
(a) -3 + 2 = ____
(b) 7 – (-3) = ____

(a) The ratio of acid and water in a liquid is 3: 2. If the liquid contains 6 litres of water, find the measure of the acid.

3 × 3 = 9 litre

(b) How many litres of liquid is there in total?
Answer:
9 + 6 = 15 litre

Question 7.
The length of a rectangle is 4 cm more than its breadth. Perimeter of the rectangle is 32 centimetres.
(a) If the breadth is x, then what is length?
Answer:
length + breadth = \(\frac{32}{2}\) = 16 cm
If breadth = x
length = x + 4

(b) Find the length and breadth of the rectangle?
Answer:
x + x + 4 = 16
2x + 4 = 16
2x= 16 – 4= 12
x = \(\frac{12}{2}\) = 6 cm
Breadth = 6 cm
Length = 6 + 4 = 10cm

Question 8.
Draw a circle of radius 3.25 centimetres.
Answer:
Draw a line of length 6.5 cm then draw its perpendicular bisector then taking the length 3.25 an as radius, draw the circle.

The angles of a triangle are in the ratio 2:3:5. How much is each angle?
Answer:
180 × \(\frac{2}{10}\) = 36°
180 × \(\frac{3}{10}\) = 54°

Shaji deposited 20000 rupess in a bank which pays 5% interest compounded annually. After 2 years he withdrew 10000 rupees. How much amount would be in his account at the end of third year?
Answer:

He withdrew 10000 rupees after 2 years.
So 22050 – 10000 = 12050
after 3 years
So final amount will be = 12050 + 602.5
