First, draw a 5 cm long line using a scale. From one end of this line, draw upward another line of 3 centimetres using a set square as shown.

Similarly, draw a 3 cm long line straight up from the other end also. Join the top ends, we get the required rectangle.

If the left and right 3 cm sides are slanted, we use another corner of set square.

Line:
In geometry, a line is an infinitely long object with no width, depth, or curvature. A straight line is an infinite length line that does not have any curves on it. A straight line can be formed between two points also but both the ends extend to infinity. It can be horizontal, vertical, or slanted.
The Set square:
There are two types of set squares and they are named according to the angles present on each.

Uses of set square:
- Draw perpendicular lines.
- Draw parallel lines.
- Draw some standard measured angles.
Circle:
A circle is the path traced by a point moving at the same distance from a fixed point.

Compass:
We use a compass to draw circles of any size. When drawing a circle, we keep its needle fixed at a point and then draw with the pencil around it. Throughout this round trip, the pencil point is at the same distance from the needle point. The unmoving point in the middle is called the ‘centre of the circle’ and the unchanging distance between the unmoving point and the rotating point is called the ‘radius of the circle’.
