The Farmer Summary in English
Stanza 1: The king rules over land and sea; the lord lives royally. The soldier rides in pomp and pride. The sailor travels on the oceans. Whatever be the case, the farmer must feed all of them.
Stanza 2: The writer writes and the poet sings. The craftsmen make beautiful things. The doctor heals the sick and the lawyer pleads in the court. The miner digs the ground to take out precious things. But it is the farmer who feeds all of them.
Stanza 3: The merchant, buys and sells. The teacher teaches well. People work hard or they may just walk around enjoying things. But from the king to the beggar, it is the farmer who feeds them.
Stanza 4: The farmer’s work is very important. His partners are the sky, the earth, the sun and the rain. Men may rise and fall but the farmer feeds them all.

സ്റ്റാൻസ് 1 : രാജാവ് കരയും കടലും ഭരിക്കുന്നു. ഒരു പ്രഭു രാജ കീയമായി ജീവിക്കുന്നു. ഒരു പട്ടാളക്കാരൻ ആഡംബരത്തോടും അഭിമാനത്തോടും കൂടെ കുതിരപ്പുറത്ത് സവാരി ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഒരു നാവികൻ സമുദ്രങ്ങളിൽ സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നു. എന്തൊക്കെയായാലും കൃഷിക്കാരനാണ് അവരെയെല്ലാം പോറ്റുന്നത്.
സ്റ്റാൻസ 2 : എഴുത്തുകാരൻ എഴുതുന്നു. കവി പാടുന്നു. കരകൗ ശലവിദഗ്ദ്ധർ നല്ല സൗന്ദര്യമുള്ള വസ്തുക്കൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു. ഡോക്ടർ രോഗികളെ സുഖപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു. വക്കീലന്മാർ കോട തികളിൽ കേസുവാദിക്കുന്നു. ഖനിയിൽ ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്നയാൾ ഭൂമികുഴിച്ച് വിലപിടിപ്പുള്ള സാധനങ്ങൾ കുഴിച്ചെടുക്കുന്നു. പക്ഷേ കൃഷിക്കാരനാണ് എല്ലാവരേയും തീറ്റിപ്പോറ്റുന്നത്.
സ്റ്റാൻസ 3 : വ്യാപാരി വാങ്ങുന്നു, വിൽക്കുന്നു, അദ്ധ്യാപകൻ പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. ചിലർ കഠിന പ്രയത്നം ചെയ്യുന്നു. ചിലർ കാര്യങ്ങൾ ആസ്വദിച്ച് നടക്കുന്നു. പക്ഷേ രാജാവു മുതൽ യാചകനു വരെ ഭക്ഷണം കൊടുക്കുന്നത് കൃഷിക്കാരനാണ്.
സ്റ്റാൻസ 4 : കൃഷിക്കാരന്റെ ജോലി വളരെ പ്രാധാന്യമുള്ളതാണ്. അവന്റെ പങ്കാളികൾ ആകാശം, ഭൂമി, സൂര്യൻ, മഴ എന്നിവയാണ്. ജനങ്ങൾ വിജയിക്കും, പരാജയപ്പെടും. പക്ഷേ കൃഷിക്കാരനാണ് എല്ലാവ രേയും തീറ്റിപോറ്റുന്നത്.
