I am so happy today. I was worried that I will have to pay a huge amount for my treatment. But when I got the bill it was written there “Paid in full with one glass of milk”. It was signed by Dr. Howard Kelly, the specialist who treated me and cured me. I thought about the meaning of those words. And suddenly I remembered everything. Long ago a poor boy who sold things from door to door came to my house and asked me for some water. When I saw the boy I knew he was tired and hungry. So, instead of giving him some water I gave him a large glass of milk. He drank it and then asked me how much he should pay. I told him there was no need to pay anything. I had forgotten all this as it happened long ago. But now I know the boy to whom I had given that glass milk is Dr. Howard Kelly. He is a good man and a man of gratitude. He remembered my kindness to him and he repaid it with such great generosity. Thank God, we still have such good people in this world.

I take it as a privilege that I got the chance to treat you and cure you. The moment I saw you, I knew it was the lady who had given me a glass of milk when I asked for some water.
In fact I had come to your house to ask for a meal because I was so hungry and tired, but ‘ when you opened the door I lost my nerve and that was why I asked for some water. But your good heart could see my hunger and that • was why you gave me a large glass of milk. I thank you for that! It is people like you who kept me going and helped me to become a doctor.

Once again I thank you and wish you many, many happy returns of the day!

And look at my brother and our friends. None of them dared to jump into the current to save me. But Radha did. She did not even have a swimming costume. She just removed her shoes and jumped into the swift current with her salwar- kurta and saved me from drowning. We were not willing to take her to the club for swimming as she had no swimming costume. We laughed at her saying that she did not know the different styles of swimming – breast stroke, butterfly stoke and free stroke. I knew all these but they did not help me in my need. Radha did not know all these different styles but she knew how to swim against the current and that is how she saved me. I will apologise to her and ask her to teach me the way she swims so confidently.

The earth belongs to all creatures. See how men and animals live together!

Describe the picture.
6th Standard English Second Term Question Paper 2022-23 Kerala Syllabus 2
Answer:
The earth belongs to all creatures. Some people wrongly think that all animals, birds, fishes, trees, plants, flowers and fruits are created for the use of man and man is the ruler of the earth. This is a wrong idea. Just like man has a right to live on this earth, all other creatures also have a right to live here and enjoy their life. In the picture we see the harmony of life. Man takes care of the animals and the animals help man in different ways. Cows give man milk. Sheep give them wool. Dogs protect his home. Man catches fish from the river to use it as his food. We see many birds and animals on the tree. The tree also gives fruits. Here we find coexistence. Imagine a world where there is only man. How dull it would be! So to live a happy life we need animals, birds, trees, fish, streams, hills, fields, butterflies, insects and all the other varieties of life we see on this earth.
