2) Wide Area Network (WAN): വലിയ geographical area യിലുള്ള കമ്പ്യൂട്ടറുകൾ കണക്ട് ചെയ്യുന്നതിനെ WAN എന്നുപറയുന്നു. ഇവിടെ കമ്പ്യൂട്ടറുകളെ കണക് ചെയ്യുന്നതിന് ടെലിഫോൺ, Microwave station satellite എന്നിവ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു. ഇന്റർനെറ്റ് ഇതിനുദാഹര ണമാണ്.
