Sea Fever Poem Summary in English

Stanza 1:
‘I must go down’ is the opening line of the first verse. It is repeated at the beginning of each stanza. This repetition gives the title an obvious meaning. The poem’s central theme is a desire to go to the sea, but it also touches on the human need to interact with one of the universe’s most powerful natural forces. Masefield wants a tall ship, a star to steer the ship by, the wheel’s kick, wind’s song, the white sail’s shaking, a grey mist on sea’s face, and a grey dawn. He refers to the wild and beautiful sea as “her” and praises her “face,” expressing genuine admiration.

One can see the desire to be connected to the sea in pursuing a sailor’s life as he , begs for a ship to set sail. He uses terms not often associated with beauty to describe the sea. He uses adjectives like “grey” and “lonely,” which show mystery and sorrow, even while they are enthralling.

Stanza 2:
All our five senses turn on-in the second stanza. We are taken to a beachside setting where we can hear “sea-gulls crying”. We see “white clouds flying”. We feel the coolness of a “windy day”. We taste the saltiness of “flung spray and blown spume” on our tongue. The poet emphasizes the sea’s powerful attraction by using the word “call” more than once. He seems to be stressing the simplicity of the sea, maybe in contrast to the complexity of daily life, with the second repetition of the line “And all I ask,” as if the water’s untamed character is consolingly constant and familiar.

Stanza 3:
The theme of wanderlust is emphasized in the third stanza. Masefield identifies as a “vagrant gypsy” and longs for a “laughing fellow-rover” who will tell him merry stories. He wants to go to the gull’s way and the whale’s way where the wind is like a sharpened knife. Masefield refers to the wind in the poem’s three stanzas, presumably highlighting the interaction between man and the sea and the wind – two of nature’s most potent elements. He then wants quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long journey is over.

Stanza 1: We do not have wings and so we can’t fly. But we can use out feet to move and climb. By steady climbing we can reach the heights we want to reach.

Stanza 2: The mighty stone pyramids divide the desert atmosphere like a wedge. But when we go near them ad look at them they look like huge flights of stairs or steps of a ladder.

Stanza 3: The distant mountains that back up the skies above are crossed by pathways that appear as we to higher levels rise. As we go higher new ways will be seen by us.

Stanza 4: The heights reached and kept by great men were not attained by a sudden flight. But they were working upward in the night when their friends were sleeping. Success is not something that comes suddenly to people but it is the result of their continued hard work.

Class 9 English The Toilet Summary

The Toilet Summary in English

Sometimes I wanted to give up and be a good girl who listened to her elders. I should have become a teacher or a nurse as my mother wished. I wanted to do something different. I thought about acting. My mother said educating me was a waste of money as I was not using my knowledge. After writing Matriculation, I had come to Johannesburg (Johurg) for the December holidays. I hoped I’d find something to do,. My elder sister worked in Orange Grove (a suburb or JoTourg) as a domestic worker. I stayed with her in her backroom. I knew no one in JoTourg except my sister’s friends with whom we went to church. I was bored and lonely.

On weekdays I was locked up in the room so that the Madam would not see me. She was home most of the time painting her nails, having tea with her friends, or lying in the sun by the pool. The pool was close to the room and I had to keep very quiet. I could not even play the radio; so she brought me books, old magazines and newspapers. I read everything I got. My sister thought I was reading too much.

Soon I got a temporary job in a clothing factory which made clothing for ladies’ boutiques. I liked the change. The factory closed at 4.30 and then I went to a park near where my sister worked. I waited until 6.30 and then I would sneak into my sister’s room. I had to leave the room before 5.30 a.m. The bus to the factory was at 7.30. I had to find something to do for 2 hours. I would go to the public toilet in the park. It was never locked. So I would sit on the toilet seat and read something.

The first time I went to this toilet, I was on my way to the bus stop. Usually, I went to the bus stop outside the OK bazaars where it was well lit. I would wait there, reading or just looking at the passing vehicles. On that day it was raining hard and so I thought I would take shelter in the toilet until the rain stopped. I knocked to see if anyone was inside. There was no reply. I pushed the door open and went in. It was not painted for a few years. The lid of the toilet would be my seat for many mornings after that.

I was lucky to have that toilet as the winter was cold. When I closed the door it was less windy inside. It was a small toilet. The walls were close to me. I felt the toilet was made to fit me. I enjoyed that kind of privacy. While sitting I thought a lot. I also daydreamed there. I thought myself to be in a big hall doing a popular play with other young actors.

I started asking myself why I had not written anything since I left school. At school I had written some poems and stories for the school magazine and other magazines and for competitions. Our English teacher was very encouraging, when I showed him my first poem. I was so excited and I could not concentrate in class the whole day. I did not think anything about publishing then. After I had become the best customer of the toilet, I bought a notebook hoping to write something. I did not write anything for a long time until one evening.

My sister had taken her usual Thursday afternoon off, and she had been delayed somewhere. I came back from work and waited in the park for the right time to go to my sister’s room. The white people had their supper at 6.30. It was then I sneaked in. My comings and goings had to be secret. As my sister did not come back I sat down in front of the room. I was reading a copy of “Drum Magazine”.

Two dogs were playing near the place I was sitting. When they came in front of me, they were surprised. I too was surprised. They began to bark at me. I was sure they would tear me to pieces if I tried to move. I sat still trying not to look at them. My heart was pounding and my mouth was dry. Then I heard the high-pitched sound of the Madam above the barking of the dogs.

She called out “Irene”, my sister’s English name. I could not move or answer the call as the dogs were in front. So she came to find out what was happening. She said “Hello” to me. The dogs stopped barking but they had not moved. I said the dogs would bite me. But Madam said they would not and asked me when I had come in. I said I had been waiting for some time now as my sister was not there. Madam then said that I could go home and she would tell my sister that I wanted to see her.

Every morning I had to wake up, roll my bedding, and put it under the bed of my Sister. I was not supposed to put on the light, although it was still dark. I would light a candle and tiptoe out with a soap and a toothbrush. I had to be away from the premises by 5.30 with my shoes in the bag. I could wear them only when I was safely way from the house. I was thinking all this when I saw my sister coming towards me. She asked me what I was doing outside in the street. I briefed her on what had happened. She told me I should have waited for her and then she could have told Madam that I was visiting her. Now if Madam sees me again what will she say?

She walked angrily towards the gate. I followed her. I made apologies. Nobody noticed us. We then went inside and had our meal, without uttering a word. I wished a friend was there to talk to, who would tell me that I was not useless, my sister did not hate me and someday I too would have a nice place to live in. The next day I woke long
before the alarm rang. I wanted to get to the toilet fast. I made sure my notebook was in my bag. When I reached the toilet, I found the door had been painted. There was a new windowpane in place of the broken one. Before long I was sitting on the toilet seat and writing a poem.

I continued writing in the following mornings. I wrote not only poems but anything that came to my mind. I wrote things as if I was talking to a friend. My sister did n know about my toilet in the park and she was least interested in my notebook.

One morning I wanted to write a story about what had happened at work the day before: the supervisor screaming at me for not calling her when I had seen the people who stole two dresses at lunch time. It all came back to me and I was smiling when I reached for the door. But it was locked! I realised the toilet was not mine. I walked to the bench nearby, I watched the early spring sun come up, and wrote the story.

The Toilet Summary in Malayalam

Class 9 English Dreams Realised Summary

Dreams Realised Summary in English

(This is an account of the tour of England by Gandhiji. He explains his idea of a free India.)
When he visited England, Gandhiji attended many meetings that were organised to honour him. The students of France organized a reception for the “spiritual ambassador of India”. They welcomed him as one bringing light to the exploitation-blinded West. He was a healing balm to the war-weary Europe. In reply, Gandhiji addressed them as friends and fellow students. He said he had visited France in 1890 to see the Paris Exhibition. He learnt something of their traditions and the teachings of Rousseau and Victor Hugo. He was glad to find a welcome from the students.

He explained the message of non-violence. He said that nonviolence was not the weapon of the weak but of the strongest. To a non-violent man strength of the muscle is not necessary.

In one speech, Gandhiji talked about the relation between education and non-violence. Real education is not filling the brain with facts and figures or passing exams by reading many books. It is developing character. Without character non-violence may look useless. In our struggle for freedom we need the sympathy of the whole world.

Scores of letters came to Gandhi daily from all parts of Britain and Europe. His old friends and class mates in England came to meet him and renew their friendship. Even celebrities wanted to meet him. When Charlie Chaplin wanted to meet him, Gandhi did not even know who Chaplin was. But when Gandhi was told that Chaplin came from the people and lived for the people and he had made millions laugh, he agreed to meet him. Chaplin had heard about Gandhi’s spinning wheel. The first question Chaplin asked was why Gandhi was against machinery. Gandhi said that the Indian peasants were unemployed for 6 months. In cloth and food every nation should be self-contained. Indians were self-contained and want to be so again.

Many women organizations wanted an address by Gandhi. He addressed the Women’s India Council in Morley College Hall. There he corrected many wrong notions they had about the women of India. He showed them how the women worked for the freedom struggle. There is no restriction on their entering public life. When the organizations for freedom struggle were banned and the leaders were jailed, it was women who came to the forefront and even went to jails. They came out of the home, took part in the processions, defied the law and bore the lathi blows without showing any resistance. It was not scholarly women like Sarojini Naidu, but hundreds of unlettered women who received the blows to their heads.

Dreams Realised Summary Class 9 English Kerala Syllabus 1

In many meetings Gandhi made his ideas about Indian Independence clear. He said he was not there to beg for independence. He was there to testify that the struggle will continue till the last Britisher leaves India. At the Round Table Conference, Gandhi spoke about his dream of independent India. He said he wanted freedom for his country not to exploit any race or any individual.

Gandhi, like other freedom fighters, persuaded the British rulers to give India freedom, which was her birthright. The dream of independence was fulfilled by Gandhi’s methods of non-violence, and non-cooperation.

Class 9 English Nothing Twice Summary

Nothing Twice Summary in English

Stanza 1: The poem opens with a declarative statement: “Nothing can ever happen twice”. The first stanza explores the arc of life, how every human arrives on earth “improvised”. Improvised means created and performed spontaneously or without preparation. We also leave this world without the chance to practise. Nobody practises death! The speaker argues that nothing can be rehearsed, life can only be lived.

Stanza 2: The speaker repeats the ideas in the first stanza through ” the metaphor of class and summer school. If you are not an intelligent student, you can repeat the class in summer. But the course of life is offered only once. There is no possibility of any repetition. Life and life’s moments happen just once.

Stanza 3: The speaker adds to the metaphor of class and summer school. Each day, and each night is unique, new. No day copies yesterday. No two nights will teach us what bliss is in the same way. Life cannot be replicated exactly.

Stanza 4: It begins with the phrase “One day” indicating a unique moment in time. One day somebody mentions your name by accident. Then you feel as if a rose was thrown into the room with all its colour and scent.

Stanza 5: The poet explores themes of passing time. Although you are with me I can’t help looking at the clock. This stanza emphasizes the speaker’s earlier commentary on life which is so short. When a person dies, flowers will be put all around his body and then he is buried. Rocks mean the sand, the earth, covering him when buried. It also means the tombstone placed on the grave.

Stanza 6: Since we know for certain that we shall die one day, why do we treat the fleeting day with so much fear and sorrow? We are not permanent on this earth. Today disappears when tomorrow comes.

Stanza 7: With kisses and smiles we try to live happily and peacefully on this earth although we are different. We are just two drops of water in the vast ocean of the universe.

Class 9 English Debts of Gratitude Summary

Debts of Gratitude Summary in English

A few days ago I was sitting in a train going to Stockholm. It was early evening. It was dark. My fellow passengers were dozing. I thought of the other times I came to Stockholm. Usually I went there to pass examinations. Now I was coming to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature. Inside, I was happy to get the Prize. I thought of the people who would be happy at my getting the Prize. Most important of them was my old mother. Then there were my friend, my brothers and sisters. I felt sad as my father was not alive. I could not tell him that I was awarded the Nobel Prize. He would have been the happiest person if he had been alive.

The train was now running smoothly. I thought of my old father again. I began to daydream. I imagined that I am going to meet my father in Paradise. I have heard stories of people meeting their fathers in the Paradise. Then why not I? The train was gliding. It would take some time to reach the destination. My thoughts raced ahead.

Father will be sitting in a rocking chair on a veranda. Nearby there is a garden full of sunshine, flowers and birds. He is reading. But when he sees me he will
stop reading. He will push his spectacles up on his forehead and come towards me. He will greet me and ask me why I am there. He will then sit again in his rocking chair and ask me why I have come to see him. I did not want to tell him directly the purpose of my visit. So I told him I was there to seek his advice as I was heavily in debt.

My father might tell me he won’t be of much help to me as Paradise does not have money. Then I will tell him that it is not money that I owe but something else. It was my father who used to play the piano and sing Bellman’s songs. He let his children read Tegner, Runeberg and Anderson. He taught them to love . fairy tales and stories of heroes. My father felt happy that he was the one who let me get into this debt.

I will then tell him that I also owe to the poor, homeless vagabonds who used to wander singing all those songs. I also owe to the old men and women in their little cottages for telling me wonderful stories about some spirits and enchanted maidens. I am also in debt to nature, the animals, the birds in the skies, the trees and flowers for telling me some of their secrets. Father then assured me there was remedy for my trouble.

I told him I am also in debt to my readers, and all those who wrote about me. People in foreign lands worked for me. I owe them gratitude for their praise and their censure. I also have to be grateful to my faithful friend Esselde, who tried to open the door for me when no one dared to believe me. I told him that I had come to ask him how I can repay all these debts.

Debts of Gratitude Summary Class 9 English Kerala Syllabus 1

Father lowered his head and looked less hopeful. He told me it was not easy. He wanted to know if I owed anyone else. Yes, there is the Academy. I told him the Academy not only gives me honour and money. They have trust in me to single me out before the whole world. I did not know how to repay this debt.
Father thinks hard. Then drying his tears of joy, he says, “I will not rack my brains about problems that no one can solve. I am very happy that you are given the Nobel Prize.”
Your majesties, ladies and gentlemen, having received no better answer to all my questions, I request you to join me in the toast which I propose to the Swedish Academy.”

Debts of Gratitude Summary in Malayalam

Class 9 English Half a Day Summary

Half a Day Summary in English

I walked with my father holding his right hand. I had to run to keep pace with him. I wore new clothes, black shoes, green school uniform and the red cap. My happiness was mixed as I had to go to school for the first time. My mother stood at the door watching us. I often looked her as I wanted her not to send me to school. We walked along a street lined with gardens. There were big fields on both sides. I requested my father not to send me to school as I would do nothing to annoy him. He told me that he was not punishing me. He said that the school was a factory which made children useful people and made them grow up.

I was not happy with his answer. I thought there was no need to remove me from the comfort of the home and put me in the school which looked like a high- walled fortress. When we came to the gate we saw the courtyard. It was full of boys and girls. My father asked me to go in and join them. He wanted me to smile and be a good example to others. I did not want to leave his hand. So he gently pushed me away. He asked me to be bold. He said my life would start that day and he would wait for me when it is time to go home.

Half a Day Summary Class 9 English Kerala Syllabus 1

I soon saw some boys and girls. I did not know anyone of them. None knew me also. I felt like a person who had lost his way. A boy came and asked me who brought me there. I told him my father brought me. He said he had ho father as he had died. I did not know what to say to that boy. When the gate was closed some children cried. A bell rang. A lady came and then came some men. The men separated us into different groups. The lady told that this was our new home. There were mothers and fathers there. There was everything there to enjoy and useful to get knowledge and life. So we should diy our tears and look happy.

We had no choice but to accept the facts. This acceptance brought us contentment. People are drawn to other people. I made friends with some boys and fell in love with some girls. Soon I realized that my misunderstandings about the school were baseless. I never thought the school would have such a rich variety. There were different games, swings, the vaulting horse and ball games. In the music room we sang songs. We learned language. We saw the globe. We learned the numbers. We ate tasty food, took little nap, and made friendships. We played and learned.

Half a Day Summary Class 9 English Kerala Syllabus

After shaking my hand a second time, he left. I took a few more steps. I realised I had lost my way. I saw a lot of vehicles and people. I saw a truck carrying soldiers. I heard the siren of a fire engine. I saw a fight between a taxi driver and his passenger. The passenger’s wife was crying for help but nobody came. I was going crazy. How things changed in half a day, between early morning and sunset?
My father might give me an answer. But where was my home? I could see only tall buildings and crowds of people.

I knew I had to cross Abu Khoda to reach home. But I could not get across the road because of the heavy traffic. The fire engine’s siren was shrieking, but it was moving at a slow pace. I am sure that the fire will have consumed everything before the fire engine reaches its destination. I was wondering when I could cross the road. Then a boy came to me and said to me, “Grandpa, let me take you across.”

Half a Day Summary in Malayalam

Half a Day Summary Class 9 English Kerala Syllabus 2

Half a Day Summary Class 9 English Kerala Syllabus

Question 1.
Why couldn’t Elsa find any footprints?
Answer:
Elsa could not find any footprints because the place is a kingdom of isolation. Nobody has walked there.

Question 2.
Why is Elsa asked to conceal her feelings?
Answer:
Elsa is asked to conceal her feelings to remain the good girl she always has to be.

Question 3.
What does she mean by ‘let it go?’
Answer:
By let it go” she means she is letting her feelings go out openly as she can’t hold them back any more.

Question 4.
“Distance makes everything seem small.” What does ‘distance’ suggest?
Answer:
Distance suggests the past and the things that had happened long ago.

Question 5.
“And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast…” What thought could be this?
Answer:
The thought that she would never go back to the state of doubt and uncertainty. The past is past; it is gone.

9th Standard English Let it Go Notes – Let’s recall and recreate

Question 1.
Does “Let it Go” portray Elsa dealing with her problems or running away from her problems? Explain.
Answer:
“Let it Go” portrays Elsa dealing with her problems and not running away from her problems. In the beginning we see her to be too shy and timid even to appear before others. At a certain point in life, she decides to free herself of societal expectations and live according to her deepest wishes. She sings the song “Let it Go” to show this decision as she builds an ice palace for herself.

Question 2.
The song highlights the problems that can arise when you hide who really are. Do you agree with this statement? Why?
Answer:
I quite agree with the statement. When we try to hide who we are really are, we will be always under stress. There is always a storm raging inside us because of the concealed emotions. By trying to appear nice to others we are negating our personality and we can then never be happy. A caged bird is never happy. Similarly a person who always hides his/her true feelings can never be happy.

Question 3.
What could be the consequences of suppressing one’s true self?
Answer:
The consequences of suppressing one’s true self are disastrous. By suppressing one’s rue self, the one is tiying to live a life different from what he/she wants. Concealed feelings and emotions make the person tense and he/she will never be able to enjoy his/her life. He will always appear sad, tense and angry. One should live his life the way he wants it and not the way others want it.

Question 4.
Choreograph the song “Let it go”. Listen to the song again, prepare a script and present it in chorus. (Choreograph means compose the sequence of steps and moves for the performance of a dance.)

Seema : Sure, that could be one of the reasons. Now, write an article on the inflence of young people on their parents’ consumer behaviour. You may use the questions asked by the host and the responses of the parent featured in the talk show to make the article convincing.
Answer:

INFLUENCE OF YOUNG PEOPLE ON THEIR PARENTS’ CONSUMER BEHAVIOUR

It is estimated that billions are spent every year on advertising and. marketing to children. It is three times the amount spent 20 years ago. Marketers are paying greater attention to young consumers for 3 reasons. First, children now have much money of their own to spend. They earn their money from household chores and from relatives on holidays.

Second, young people influence their parents’ consumer behaviotir from an early age. Children tell their parents what snacks, cereals, toothpaste, soap and shampoo are to be bought. Teens give their opinions on the type of car and new media equipment to buy and even where to go for vacation.

Third, marketers know that the children of today are the adult consumers tomorrow. Children develop loyalty to brands. Many companies have ‘cradle to grave’ marketing to ensure consumer allegiance.
In the modem world, the number of children in families is getting smaller. Therefore parents are ready to pamper their children. The children who are influenced by the various advertisements develop some kind liking for
particular products and they persuade their parents to buy those products. In their eagerness to please their children, parents buy the thing the children choose.

In short the children and the adolescents, influenced by the captivating advertisements, influence their parents in a big way in their consumer behaviour.

Dear sir,
I’m Miss Kaota, a fourth-year medical student, and a friend of your sister. I need your help to pay my fee. I have USD 4.2 million in my account, but my college accepts payment only from guardians. My parents passed away in an accident recently. I’ll transfer the amount to your account if you send me your account details and PIN for a legal fund transfer. In gratitude, you’ll receive 20% of the total amount transferred. I would be much obliged if you would kindly assist me.

Regards,
Miss Kaota

Who wrote the letter?
Answer:
Miss Kaota

What is its purpose?
Answer:
She wants assistance to pay her college fee.

Do you think the letter is genuine? Why?
Answer:
I don’t think the letter is genuine. The writer does not even know the name of the person to whom she is writing. She says she has $4.2 million in her account. But the college accepts payment only from guardians. This can’t be true. No college will make such a demand as she is an adult, being a 4th year medical student. She is only trying to get your bank details so that she can take money from it through fraudulent means.

B. Sensing danger, Mr Kiran thought of seeking the help of his mother’s friend, a police offier named Saba. Mr Kiran spoke to her.
This is how their conversation began. Complete it and enact it in class.

Saba : Forward that e-mail to my mobile.
Kiran : Okay, Ma’m.
(Kiran forwards it to Saba and Saba reads it.)
Saba : Kiran, this is a fraudulent mail.
Kiran : How do you know Ma’m?
Saba : My dear Kiran, I’m a Police Officer. I can detect these things fast.
Kiran : Why does she send such a letter to me?
Saba : She wants to get your bank details and then withdraw money from it fraudulently.
Kiran : O My God! I was almost thinking of sending some money as she said she was a friend of my sister.
Saba : That’s how these frauds cheat people. They exploit the sentiments and the credulity of people. Good that you came to me.
Kiran : Thank you Ma’m. Thank you very much!

The Magic of Cartoons: Joseph Barbera’s story

Hello everyone!
This is Nimmy. Welcome to this podcast episode featuring the famous cartoon artist

Joseph Barbera.
We’re thrilled to have Joseph Barbera with us today!
As you know, Joseph Barbera, the legend of the animation industry, is the genius behind characters like Tom and Jerry. In his memoir, ‘The Ink and the Melody,’ he takes us on a fascinating journey, sharing captivating stories of his meeting with Michael Jackson. Join us as we delve into the vivid tapestry of Joseph Barbera’s life, illuminating his incredible contributions to the world of animation.

A hearty welcome, Joseph Barbera! You are a true legend of animation. Your creative brilliance has entertained millions around the world, including myself. Can you share your experience of creating the Tom and Jerry series?
The Tom and Jerry series was a mix of dreams and creativity for me and William Hanna. We imagined a fun rivalry between a cat and a mouse, full of jokes, clever moves, and awesome animation. This idea became the beloved ‘Tom and Jerry’ series.

We have heard of your meetings with the legendary M J. Can you share that experience?
While working as creative consultant for the Tom and Jerry movie, I had some meetings with the King of Pop himself. I wanted him to sing for the movie.

Did it work out?
Unfortunately, no. For some reason, our top executives were not interested.

M J is a fan of cartoons. Could you tell us about the time you sketched for him?
Yeah, M J really loves cartoons. At one of our meetings, he asked me if I scripted all the Tom and Jerry cartoons. I told him I drew them. He brought me some paper. I started sketching one of my favourite cartoons, ‘Bowling Alley Cat’. Michael looked over my shoulder, whispering in his high, thin voice, “Wow!” and “Wow!” He was really excited.

Could you tell us about the time when Jackson gave you his autograph?
When I gave him autographed sketches of Tom and Jerry, I asked him for his autograph.
He wrote a rather lengthy note and asked me to read it aloud. His words were truly touching. This was what he wrote:
“To my hero of yesterday, today, and tomorrow, with many thanks for all the many cartoon friends you gave me as a child. They were all I had. — Michael.” It was truly a special moment for me.

In your memoir, you mention that M J is laid-back and courteous. How would you assess his personality?
Michael Jackson is kind and genuine, humble, despite his fame. To me, he was always polite and appreciative, and he had a gentle way of speaking. He is undoubtedly a true gentleman.

THE GOD OF CRICKET – SACHIN TENDULKAR’S STORY

Hello everyone!
This is Riya. Welcome to this podcast episode featuring the famous Indian Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. ”
We’re thrilled to have Sachin Tendulkar with us today!
As you know, Sachin Tendulkar, known as the God of Cricket in India, is the one who has inspired thousands of the youths to turn to cricket for enjoyment and also as a profession. In his famous Autography titled “Playing It My Way”, Sachin Tendulkar takes us on a fascinating journey, captivating us with his successes and failures in his career. He speaks of his role models and how he overcame moments of doubts arid crises. Sachin has really made the game of cricket very popular especially among the youths of today. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket. Hailed as the world’s most prolific batsman of all time, he is the all-time highest run-scorer in both ODI and Test cricket with more than 18,000 runs and 15,000 runs, respectively.

A hearty welcome, Sachin Tendulkar.
You are a true hero of the youths. Your performances on the cricket field have thrilled millions around the world, especially in India. I too am a great fan of yours.
Can you share your experiences in your journey to become the God of Cricket?
I took up cricket at the age of eleven. I made my Test match debut on 15 November 1989 against Pakistan in Karachi at the age of sixteen. I owe a lot of gratitude to my father, Ramesh Tendulkar, my brother Ajit and my coach Achrekar Sir. Achrekar Sir would put a one-rupee coin on the top of the stumps, and the bowler who dismissed me would get the coin. If I completed the session without getting dismissed, he would give me the coin. I consider the 13 coins I won among my most prized possessions.

We have heard that you have also faced challenges and doubts, and some critics even questioned your abilities. How did you deal with them?
What you have heard is right. I also had challenges and doubts. Some critics even questioned my abilities when I failed to score in some matches. But I chose to silence them with my unwavering focus and sheer determination. I embraced the struggle as an opportunity for growth, never shying away from hard work or relenting in my pursuit of excellence.

What is your biggest achievement?
I think I am the only player to have scored one hundred international centuries. I was the first batsman to score a double century in an ODI. I am the only player to complete more than 30,000 runs in international cricket. The Government of India honoured me in 2014 by conferring upon me Bharat Ratna – India’s highest civilian award. More than all these, what I value most is the love and affection I get from my fellow citizens.

Do you have any message for our listeners?
Be sincere and truthful in whatever you do. With determination, hard work and will to succeed you can overcome any obstacle on your way. Don’t be disappointed by adverse criticism or setbacks. I Was greatly impressed by the story of the Scottish King Bruce and the Spider. When he was defeated 6 times by the English King, Bruce ran away into a forest. One day as he was sitting under a tree, brooding over his failure, he saw a spider trying to weave its web from one end of the cave to another. The spider jumped to the other end to connect the web. It failed. Again it jumped, again it failed. 6 times it failed. Only on the 7th attempt the spider succeeded and it weaved the web. This inspired Bruce. He went back, reorganised the army and defeated the English army. So, don’t be afraid of failures!

Thank you, Sachin Tendulkar, for spending some of your valuable time with us. Continue inspiring the people by telling them to dream high and work hard for achieving their dreams.

Answer:
It tells me that Jackson’s childhood was full of misery. He was the eighth child of his parents. From his young age, Jackson was physically and mentally abused by his father, enduring incessant rehearsals, whippings and name-calling. That is why he said in the autograph he wrote for Joseph Barbra, “To my hero of yesterday, today and tomorrow, with many thanks for all the many cartoon friends you gave me as a child. They were all I had. ”

How do you think the cartoons of Joseph Barbera helped Michael Jackson in his loneliness?
The cartoons of Joseph Barbera helped Michael Jackson in his loneliness by giving him joy. The cartoon characters made him laugh and forget his loneliness, misery and pain at home. We know that Jackson had an abusive father who abused him mentally and physically. The cartoon characters gave Jackson some solace from the agonies of his childhood.
